Richard Owen from Smurfit Westrock was recognised for his valued efforts on behalf of the Trust at the Chesterfield FC End of Season Awards event, receiving the Social Contribution award.
Smurfit Westrock became a Gold Friend of the Trust earlier this year and Richard has been a driving force in their support for the work done by the organisation.
In a message sent to the Trust reflecting on the award, Richard said: “I would like to thank you all and pass my thanks on to ALL the team at CFCCT for nominating me for the award.
“To say I was shocked (in a nice way 😊) is an understatement. The words on the short film they played meant so much to me.
“To be involved with everyone at the Trust and the impact you all have on our communities is amazing – for me and Smurfit Westrock to be involved is our privilege.
“I’m already planning our support for the next Camp Inspire and how we can support further, along with a few other ideas I have in mind and working on. Watch this space 😊).”
