Spireites take part in Heritage Open Days

The ten days of Heritage Open Days has just ended with several new venues opening their doors for the first time.

Chesterfield FC took part and arranged four tours that welcomed visitors from near and far, ranging from people that lived a few streets away to visitors from hundreds of miles away and even from other countries.

Club Secretary Peter Whiteley (pictured, far right in photo) explained: “We felt it was vital that the football club participated in this national (and international) event as a way of welcoming a wider audience to understand the club’s ambitions.

“We want to be successful on the pitch but we also want give as many people as possible a chance to recognise our ambition to become firmly embedded in the community by offering a huge range of non-football activities.”
