Youth Diversion

Who are we?

Our Youth Diversion Mission

Provide prevention, intervention and educational projects and sessions that divert young people away from risk taking behaviours and to support and encourage each participant into an environment where they can thrive.

Boots on Ground

Our ‘Boots on the Ground’ project involves engaging and building relationships with young people in the community with the aim to cut anti-social behaviour and criminal damage. While also looking out for the wellbeing of young people.

After being successful in Chesterfield, the project has now expanded to other areas including Bolsover and Buxton.

Premier League Kicks

Premier League Kicks is a programme that provides free sports sessions to children in the local community. These young people may be at risk of antisocial behaviour or youth violence and would not usually have access to these types of opportunities.

The sessions provide young people with regular and positive experiences in safe and supportive community environments.

Through this programme we run a variety of sessions, including;

Tuesdays– Girls Turn Up and Play (Queens Park) (5pm-6pm)

Pan Performance (SMH Group Stadium) (5pm-6pm)

  • Roller Skating (SMH Group Stadium) (6:15pm-8:15pm)

Wednesday– Barrow Hill Youth Engagement (6pm-8pm)

Thursdays– Girls Spireites Kickabout (Staveley) (5pm-6pm)

  • Bolsover Football/Cricket (6:30pm-7:30pm)

Friday– Friday Night Football (Queens Park) (4pm-6pm)

Reboot Schools Projects

Project Reboot is run in secondary schools and targets individuals who are struggling in mainstream school.

The young people involved may have a record of poor attendance and involvement in incidents, at risk of becoming involved in antisocial behaviour in the community and their behaviours escalating.

Through the project sessions, participants will learn vital life skills, build towards their futures, have opportunities to engage in unique trips and engage with lived experienced individuals that highlight key issues affecting the Chesterfield area.

Youth Hub

Our youth hub is situated in the town centre and provides young people a safe space to grow their confidence and thereby make positive contributions to the community. We engage with young people and provide diversionary workshops on topics such as antisocial behaviour and drug and alcohol misuse. We also provide the chance for young people to build on their own personal development. For example, they have the opportunity to complete courses and qualifications which can boost a CV
